Deng Sparks Win By Blair

Luol Deng scored 24 points, 13 during a key second half run, to lift Blair Academy to a 70-56 win over West Nottingham. Charlie Villanueva, Blair's other dominant superstar, did not play at all due to sickness (see other stories on this site).
Blair jumped out to a 24-14 lead midway through the second quarter. However, West Nottingham rallied and claimed a 32-30 halftime lead, primarily due to Josh Boone's 10 second quarter points.

In the third, Blair outscored the Rams, 27-6. Deng scored 13 of his 24 points during this big spurt. Deng also had several blocks and rebounds during this timeframe.
Boone finished with 23 points. Boone has signed with Connecticut while Deng has inked with Duke.
"We made that run and I felt if I stepped it up right then we could have had the game right then," Deng said. "We started off strong but they got back in the game. But that was a lack of focus. Then we got it going in the big run."
