Deng Sparks Blair To Win

Luol Deng (right),'s preseason player of the year, scored 25 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, had four steals and five assists to lead Blair Academy to a 73-49 win over Our Savior New American at the War at the Shore.
Deng, a 6-8 multi-purpose player who committed to Duke, was 10 of 19 from the floor and five of five from the free throw line. Deng's teammate, Charlie Villanueva (committed to Illinois), had 19 points, 14 in the second half. Villanueva was six of 12 from the floor and seven of 10 from the free throw line. He had early foul trouble and sat out most of the 16-minute first half.
Juan Palacios led Our Savior with 22 poiknts. He also had five rebounds. Oumar Sylla had just nine points in a disappointing effort. Our Savior could never get going during this game and a tough defense exerted by Blair Academy disrupted the opposing team's offense for the 32-minute game.
