Dendy opening up his recruitment

Having committed two years ago to Clemson, reclassified four-star prospect Laron Dendy is having second thoughts about his decision, so the 6-foot-9, 215-pound power forward from Greer (S.C.) High School is opening up his recruitment.
"The reason I'm decommitting is I feel like I committed to early," Dendy told Rivals.com. "I was just happy to be in the ACC and close to home where my family could watch me play. Then when Coach Nickleberry left, I just didn't feel the same love from Clemson that I felt before. I still might want to go to Clemson, but I want to make sure that Clemson is really the right place for me."

Although coaches have not been in contact with Dendy, he did give a preliminary list of Texas, Maryland, Arizona, Florida State, Cincinnati, Wake Forest, Memphis and Ole Miss as schools of interest along with Clemson.
Dendy, the No. 54 prospect in the Rivals150 for the class of 2008, averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds per game last season.
Laron Dendy scouting report:
A combo forward, Dendy excels at running the court and utilizing his athleticism in an open and fast game. His skill level in the half court game is developing.
