Delks to be Bulldogs

Mississippi State had been viewed as the leader for the Delk twins as early as the summer before their junior year when Rivals.com interviewed them at the AAU 16-under Nationals. Tonight the guard tandem from Jackson Northside (Tenn.) High School made it official and committed to the Bulldogs.
“The twins made it official tonight and committed to Mississippi State,” said Coach Jeremy Shulman of the Midstate Ballerz. “They were ready to get it over with and are excited about going to Mississippi State.

Reginald Delk, a 6-foot-4, 170-pound shooting guard, ranked No. 81 in the Rivals150, and Richard Delk, a 6-foot-5, 175-pound point guard, ranked No. 73 in the Rivals150, chose Mississippi State over UAB, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. The only other school besides Mississippi State that they visited was UAB.
Reginald is a slashing scorer who also has a pure stroke from deep. Richard is a very strong defender and rebounder. Both players are wiry athletes with strong all around games.
Along with Monta Ellis, Mississippi State has a very strong backcourt coming to Starkville in 2005. Now the Bulldogs will focus on landing big men Vernon Goodridge and Cyrus McGowan.
