Delks Pick Up Another Offer

Reginald Delk and Richard Delk just broke into the 2005 rankings at No. 62 and No. 68 respectively. According to their Midstate Ballerz AAU coach, the Delks from Jackson Northside (Tenn.) High School have a new offer from a top high major program.
“Right around the day Telfair declared for the draft, Louisville offered both Richard and Reginald,” said Coach Schulman of the Midstate Ballerz. “Earlier they only had an offer for Reginald, but they made the new offer through Tony Delk [uncle who played at Kentucky and now with the Dallas Mavericks].”

Although Coach Schulman emphasized that the Delks are still wide open, he did say that the Louisville offer catapults the Cardinals into the Delks’ top three.
“The are still wide open, and I wouldn’t want anyone to shy away from recruiting them, but they said that Louisville, Mississippi State, and Florida are their top three schools right now,” said Coach Schulman.
Coach Schulman also talked about what Reginald Delk, 6-foot-4, 170-pound shooting guard, and Richard Delk, 6-foot-5, 175-pound point guard, are looking for in a school.
“They want to go to a place where they can play early and to a place that has a strong program,” he said. “For some reason they do not have any offers outside the south. I think it got out that they did not want to go far from home, but they are willing to go anywhere. I know Connecticut is showing a lot of interest, but they have not offered either.”
The Midstate Ballerz host their own tournament this weekend. The Memphis Bulldogs (Anthony Mason, Jr. and Rousean Cromwell and the Murfreesboro Stars (Brandan Wright) are expected to participate. The Ballerz will also be at the Tournament of Champions.
