Delaney names three favorites

Three-star 2007 prospect Malcolm Delaney is having a solid year leading Towson Catholic High School in Baltimore, Md. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard has picked up some offers and is listing three schools as his leaders.
"My top three are Virginia, Maryland and Wake Forest," said Delaney. "I'm also still looking at Virginia Tech, Clemson and Georgia."

Claiming offers from Maryland, Clemson and Georgia, Delaney had these comments on his three leaders.
"I really like the Virginia coaching staff," he said. "They seem real straight forward. The school is known for good academics, and I think the basketball program is an up and coming program.
"Maryland is close to home, and the coaching staff has shown me a lot of love. Also Maryland has a great college atmosphere.
"Wake Forest is probably where I'm most comfortable right now. The first thing Coach Prosser told me is that I'll graduate, and that is my main goal. I also like their fast style of play."
Delaney, who is averaging 19 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists, recently took an unofficial visit to Wake Forest to catch their game with Virginia Tech.
A tough guard with an all around game, Delaney excels at making the players around him better. With a good head on his shoulders, he realizes there are areas of his game that could improve.
"I definitely need to get stronger," he said. "Also, the ACC is a 94-foot league. I need to work on my full court defense."
With a 3.3 GPA, Delaney will take the SAT this spring.
