Dejans Sharp Second Half Sparks Bridgton

FORT MONMOUTH, NEW JERSEY -- Bridgton Academy features a big frontline of 7-2 Giedrius Rinkevicius, 6-11 Larry Turner, and 6-10 Amadou Ba. But it was Delic Dejan coming off the bench to spark Bridgton to a 68-62 victory over a tough Army Prep squad.
Dejan scored all of his 13 points in the second half as Army Prep tried to run down a big Bridgton second half lead. Bridgton entered the game without one of its top scorers in David Teague (see story in Midwest section). Teague has been dismissed from the team after breaking a team rule.

The score was tied at 29 after the first 20 minutes of play. Army Prep's Chaun Brooks had a terrific game and his play in the first half kept this game close. Brooks finished the game with 24 points on an assortment of drives to the basket.
But the overpowering height of Bridgton was too much for Army Prep to handle. Turner scored 12 points and had 13 rebounds. He dominated on the boards, especially during the key late moments of the second half.
Louie Ford did a solid job running the Bridgton offense. He had 12 points too. Matt Trammell scored 13 points for Army Prep. "They just had too much size for us," said Army Prep head coach John Pike. "I thought our guys hung tough and played hard."
They did. But sometimes size does matter. And it did today for Bridgton Academy.
