Deja Vu for Carl Elliott

Carl Elliott signed last April with George Washington University, and the 6-2 combo guard from Worcester Academy in Massachusetts may be headed for the same fate in the spring 2003.
Rivalshoops.com caught up with Worcester Head Coach Mo Cassara following the Hilltoppers' 64-53 loss last Saturday to Blair Academy at the Boys Club Holiday Classic in New York City.

Elliott played very well in the title game loss to Blair, collecting 18 points, six rebounds, three assists and four steals.
"Carl's recruiting is wide open, and he has a lot of Big East and Atlantic 10 interest," Cassara explained. "George Washington is very much still in the picture and is the leader, and they are the team that is recruiting him the hardest."
West Virginia is one program out of the Big East that has specifically come in to look at Elliott this fall/winter. GW Asst. Coach Steve Pikiell was in attendance last Saturday for Elliott's title game performance against Blair.
A Division I caliber recruit in football as well, Elliott is a strong and athletic combo guard who attacks the goal and finishes well. He hits the glass aggressively for a guard and is a physical defender. If he develops a consistent outside shot, he will be a very difficult match up for other guards to contend with.
Elliott attended Trinity Pawling H.S. last year, but narrowly missed qualiying academically. So instead of attending GW this fall, he detoured to Worcester Academy for a little more academic seasoning.
Rivalshoops.com plans on catching Worcester in action several more times this winter, so we will keep you posted on Elliott's play and recruitment in the weeks and months to come. Stay tuned!
