DeForrest Riley Talks About Penn State Future

DeForrest Riley, a sharp-shooting 6-6, 192 pound swingman from Winton Woods H.S. in Cincinnati, Ohio, is looking forward to attending Penn State in the fall.
Riley helped Winton Woods to a pair of victories in three games at the Slam Dunk to the Beach.

Riley burst onto the scene last spring and summer with Ozie Davis' Queen City Prophets basketball program. Riley can be a lights out three point shooter, but he displayed a solid all-around floor game for the Warriors at the Slam Dunk.
Riley averaged 12 points and four assists in the three games at the Slam Dunk, although he shot just six of 18 from beyond the three point arc. So even though he shot was not consistently falling, he was able to help his team out in other ways.
Riley is looking forward to the challenge of being a part of a youth movement at Penn State.
"The team is all young now, I guess they have this project going of getting young players," he said. "I hope to add my shooting ability to the program."
Riley knows it won't be easy to crack the starting lineup at Penn State right away, with shooters like Sharif Chambliss already in the fold at Happy Valley.
"Getting stronger will be the main thing," he said. "Playing teams like Illinois and Ohio State -- all of those schools are football schools. But the basketball players are strong too."
"I also have to get my mental game ready for that level," Riley added. "Sometimes I will be a top 100 player, and other times, I fade out. I just have to be more consistent."
