Decision Week For Villanueva

The hour glass is emptying its final grains of sand this week for Charlie Villanueva, the 6-10 senior forward from Blair Academy in New Jersey. "He has until June 19th to decide," said his AAU coach, Gary Charles of the Long Island Panthers.
Villanueva, who placed his name into the NBA draft, recently committed to Connecticut. So Villanueva has to decide risking putting his name into the June 2003 NBA draft or playing some college basketball to help increase his stock. "I can't comment about his situation now," said Charles. "All I can say is he will have a decision by June 19th."

Connecticut fans are hoping that Villanueva has a chance to showcase his terrific offensive skills. Villanueva has tremendous range on his jumper and also can smack you around in transition with his dunks. "We'll know soon," Charles said.
Charles had previously said that Memphis was one NBA team interested in Villanueva, who recently worked out in front of scouts and general managers. There has been no date set up for an additional workout for Jerry West but a source told us one could be solidified this week.
