Decision to attend Texas was easy for Smith

It didn't take long for Harrison Smith, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound shooting guard from Jones High School in Houston, Texas, to make a decision about his future. After recently taking an official visit to Texas, the four-star prospect was ready to make a decision about his future earlier in the week.
"Yes, Harrison did give a commitment to Texas," said Brian Smith, Harrison Smith's AAU coach. "He actually made the decision to attend Texas on Monday. There was an opportunity for Harrison to take official visits to schools like Florida, Texas A&M and others, but he was not interested in doing that.

"Harrison really made this decision because of the basketball program at Texas and because of the quality of education that he is going to receive at Texas," he added. "This was a decision that Harrison made by himself. He didn't talk to anybody about this, but this is something that he wanted to do."
Prior to making a decision about his future, Smith, the No. 82 ranked player in the class of 2006, had been receiving interest from the likes of Boston College, Connectcuit, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Florida and others.
Harrison Smith Scouting Report: Smith is a physically strong and athletic guard who specializes in getting to the basket. He can also shoot it from the outside and has the capabilities to be a very good defender and rebounder. Ball handling and passing skills have room for improvement. -Jerry Meyer of Rivals.com
