Power took official visits to New Mexico, Mississippi State, Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Notre Dame. His trip to the Irish campus in South Bend marked the second time in the last month he visited with head coach Mike Brey and his staff. This time though Power made it an official visit. He left the Notre Dame campus last night.
Power, a 6-5, 210-pound forward who is transferring from Iowa State, previously mentioned Wisconsin and South Carolina at one time during his tour of the campuses.
Power had a terrific sophomore season in the Big 12. Power, a native of Crown Point, Ind., started all 31 games last season, averaging 13.6 ppg and 4.5 rpg. Power was a honorable mention all-Big 12 pick. Power, who led Iowa State in steals with 37, was also second on the team in assists with 73.
Power did not give a commitment to the Irish before he left nor did he indicate a timeframe when he would have a decision, according to our sources. We will post more information on this story as we get it.
