Decision Looming For Mims

The recruitment of 6-foot-2, 200 combo guard Ralph Mims is close to being over. That part is established. Where he goes, however, is still up in the air. One ACC school and one SEC school are waiting to find out if they make the cut. Their wait is almost over.
Mims said Florida State and South Carolina are and have always been his front runners but the race is neck and neck.

“Right now it’s like 50/50 so it’s hard to say,” Mims said. “Florida State game out to my game on Friday and they came last year, too. South Carolina came out earlier in the year. It’s between them. I don’t know what to really say.”
Although he remains torn on where to go, he does know that a decision is on the horizon.
“I’m still talking to both schools and finding out more and more about each one but I think I’m pretty close to making a decision,” Mims said. “(A verbal commitment) will probably in a few days to a week.
“The recruiting process is fun, man. I’m still in the spotlight and I’m having fun with it,” Mims said. “I’m just enjoying the process. How many times can you go through this in your life?”
Mims is averaging 28.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game as his Brunswick team is sitting at 8-1 on the season. Despite some questions surrounding his academics, Mims said he is eligible to play Division I ball next year.
