Decision Looming for Lamb

With two official visits already in the history books, Ryan Lamb, a 5-foot-8 spark plug point guard from Whitefield Academy (GA), has a good idea on his college destination. A decision is looming.
“I think I’m going to make my decision pretty soon,” Lamb said. “Maybe in the next week.”

Lamb, who won a state championship with Whitefield Academy, last season traveled to The Citadel last weekend for an official trip. His teammate, Anthony Miller, from the award winning squad is now at The Citadel. But for Lamb, he wasn’t prepared for what he saw from the Charleston, SC school.
“It was okay, I just don’t know about the military side of it,” Lamb said. “The basketball players don’t do as much but they still have to wear the uniforms and get up early. There are some other aspects that are just different. I don’t know if I want that.
“They still aren’t out of it though. I’m thinking how they help me in the long run. I can get a real good job afterwards if I decide to go there.”
Lamb took an official visit to Marshall two weeks ago with his AAU teammate Paul Delaney. Lamb said he enjoyed the trip and liked the small town feeling.
“There is a nice family atmosphere throughout the entire community,” Lamb said. “(Coach Ron Jirsa) is a real nice guy and he seems to know what he’s doing basketball wise.”
Towson made an in home visit on Monday evening. Lamb said he’s debating on whether he’ll make an official trip to the CAA school. Marshall, VMI and The Citadel have all made in home presentations to the point guard as well.
“There isn’t an order,” Lamb said. “I want to go to a club where they run up and down the court and not slow things down. I like it fast paced, that’s where I’m at my best.”
Lamb averaged 10.6 assists and 8.4 steals per game as a junior. He plays in a tough in state region with the likes of Southwest Atlanta Christian, featuring the number one player in the country Dwight Howard and super sophomore Javaris Crittendon. Landmark Christian is also in the region. They feature Randolph Morris, No. 19 on the Rivals150 and junior prospect Justin Holland.
