Alexander has in-home visits set up with Oklahoma on Sept. 9 and with Arkansas on Sept. 13. He said he plans to officially visit OU the weekend of Sept. 28 and possibly Kansas the weekend of Oct. 13.
"I am still open but I am kind of leaning toward OU," Alexander said. "My family gives me a lot of support, and I don't want to be homesick when I am in college."
Alexander said he found himself homesick at times while traveling across the country with his Athletes First squad this past summer. Athletes First played in several Nike events this summer, including the Nike Peach Jam, the AAU Super Showcase and the AAU Nationals.
An explosive athlete blessed with a strong frame, Alexander is one of the better two guard prospects in the Class of 2002. He averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block per game as a junior at Midwest City.
His head coach at Midwest City, Terry Evans, recently accepted a coaching position at Oklahoma. Alexander is also a high school teammate of 6-9 Shelden Williams, who is one of the more coveted big men in the class of 2002.
Alexander said he carries a 3.2 GPA in the classroom but will need to improve his ACT score in order to qualify academically.
The Insiders Report will keep you posted on his recruitment in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
