Deane staying home

Daniel Deane, the No. 35 ranked power forward in the class of 2006, visited four different schools across the west. In the end, the Deane, 6-foot-8, 225-pounds from Judge Memorial Catholic High School in Park City, Utah, has chosen to stay home and play for Utah.
"Daniel committed yesterday," said Deane's AAU coach John Bowman of Utah Pump N Run. "He'll do very well at Utah. He has a tremendous work ethic and always plays hard like his dad did when he was at Utah."

Always a work horse down low around the basket, Deane has been working diligently to improve his perimeter skills.
"He will continue to improve," said Bowman. "We played him on the perimeter some, and he is developing his outside game."
Besides officially visiting Utah, Deane also visited Gonzaga, Kansas and Stanford.
Daniel Deane scouting report:
Deane runs the floor, is relentless on the glass, attacks the basket, and throws his body around on defense. Can score with his back to the basket and can step out and hit the jump shot. His ball handling and passing are in need of refinement.
