Deane Lands Combo Forward

Paige Paulsen, a 6-7, 215 pound combination forward from Custer H.S. in Custer, S.D., gave a recent oral commitment to Mike Deane's Lamar University program.
Paulsen picked Lamar after taking a pair of official trips this fall to South Dakota and Lamar (Oct. 10-12). He also had seen interest from Buffalo.

"First off, I fell in love with Coach Deane when he came in for the home visit," Paulsen said. "He was straight up with me on how it was going to be."
When I got down there for my official visit, I expected a lot," he continued. "And I got more than I even expected. The guys on the team were very friendly and I was very impressed with the facilities, the Montagne Center."
Paulsen enjoyed a very solid summer with Paul Seville's Dakota Schoolers program. As a junior last season at Custer H.S., he averaged 19 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.
He's also very solid in the classroom with a 3.0 GPA and 22 on the ACT.
Paulsen envisions playing both the three and four positions at Lamar.
"I would say that my strength is rebounding and crashing the offensive boards," he said. "I am both an inside and outside threat."
Paulsen plans on signing in November with Lamar.
