Dayton lands local product
The Dayton Flyers didn't travel far to pick up their first commitment in the 2008 class. Local product Josh Benson from Dunbar High School announced his intentions of being a Flyer.
Benson, a 6-foot-9, 210-pound power forward, chose Dayton over Xavier and Butler.

His high school coach Peter Pullen is confident that Benson's best basketball is ahead of him.
"Josh is really long and has a big upside," said Coach Pullen. "He has a decent, but improving, mid-range jumper. He runs the floor well and is a hard working and great kid.
"He does need to get stronger, but we are working hard on that. In fact, he just got out of the weight room."
