Dawkins has two at the top

One of the top shooting guards in the 2010 class, Andre Dawkins visited his top school out of the ACC last weekend. Dawkins, 6 feet 5, 190 pounds out of Chesapeake (Va.) Atlantic Shores, also has a top school out of the Big East.
Having also visited Wake Forest and Duke, Dawkins spoke glowingly of his weekend visit on the Maryland campus.

"It was a good visit," said Dawkins. "I was able to tour the campus and check out the locker rooms. I met one of the academic advisors and even met the president of the school."
Maryland immediately returned the favor, attending an open gym at Dawkins' school on Tuesday.
Georgetown is the other school in hot pursuit of Dawkins.
"Coach Thompson just talked to my dad and wanted it to be known that they are officially offering me a scholarship," said Dawkins.
Proximity to home and the vigorous nature of their pursuit of Dawkins have both Maryland and Georgetown at the top of his school list.
"Georgetown and Maryland are my top schools," he said. "They are showing the most interest, and I like their coaches. It also helps that they are in this area. I don't want to go to school too far away from home."
Dawkins, who also has Clemson (offer), Duke, Florida, Virginia Tech (offer), Wake Forest and Old Dominion (offer) on his school list, originally planned to pick a school during his senior year. His timetable, however, might be speeding up.
"My original play was to wait till I was a senior to pick a school," he said. "Of course, things change. I didn't think my recruitment would move so fast. If I think I know what I want to do, then that is a conversation I'll have to have with my family."
Dawkins will run with the Boo Williams 17-under squad on the travel team circuit.
