Darnell Jackson, a 6-foot-9, 235-pound power forward from Midwest City High School in Oklahoma City, OK., has given a commitment to the Kansas Jayhawks. Coach Bill Self and his staff spent quite a bit of time watching Jackson this past week during the Nike All-American Camp and, at that point, it was apparent that he was one of their top targets.
Jackson has yet to release an official statement, but he and his mother were more than willing to spend a little time with the RivalsHoops.
“Yes, I’ve committed to Coach Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks,” Darnell Jackson said. “I’m hanging out with J.R. Giddens right now and I’m excited about my decision. I have not spent a lot of time talking with Coach Self about my decision, but he knows that I have committed.”
It was obvious that Kansas was very interested in Jackson after watching the staff during the Nike All-American Camp. The staff took every opportunity to see Jackson play.
