Daniels had a ton of high major looks prior to the summer, but some programs backed off due to rumored academic question marks surrounding Daniels.
This past fall, Daniels had in-home visits with Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Arkansas and Binghamton. According to Mr. Allen, Daniels took his only official visit of the fall to Corpus Christi from Oct. 12-13.
On the morning of the 12th, Daniels took the SAT exam for a second time. This summer, he told Rivalshoops.com that he took it in the spring and needed to improve his score in order to qualify academically.
As a junior last season at Sam Houston H.S., Daniels averaged 14 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks per game.
Although his conditioning will need to improve, Daniels has quite a bit of potential, and he could be a big-time steal for the Islanders. For a big man of his size, he can stroke it a bit from the perimeter, although he has the size and frame necessary to take up space and bang in the low post.
Daniels competed this past spring and summer with Les Singleton's Texas Platinum program.
