Daniels Has High D-1 Interest

Will Daniels, a sleek 6-foot-7, 205-pound combo forward from F.D.R. High School in Hyde Park, N.Y., has had some Big East schools showing some interest in his skills. Daniels, a player with nice upside and potential, plays for the Albany City Rocks during the spring and summer AAU events. The Albany City Rocks are traditionally one of the best AAU programs each spring and summer. And this year is no exception.
Seton Hall, St. John's, and Providence have recently expressed some interest in recruiting Daniels this summer. The reasons are many. Currently, many coaches believe Daniels is more suited to the four spot (power forward position). However, over the past several months, Daniels has made progress in developing small forward skills. So many college coaches are likely to look at Daniels this summer to see if he has progressed in this particular area.

Daniels also has a nice frame. He is also athletic enough to pose problems for bigger defenders. Daniels does finish well in transition. Like most high school forwards, he still has to add some strength to his upper body to be an effective player in a high division one atmosphere.
Daniels told RivalsHoops.com that he has been offered scholarships by Providence, Richmond, Dayton, Marist and Rhode Island. Daniels said he has a 3.1 GPA and scored 860 on the SAT. This past season at FDR, he averaged 26 points, 15 rebounds and three assists per game.
