Dana Jones Resurfaces At JUCO

Dana Jones, an offensive minded 6-0, 160 pound point guard from the Bronx, N.Y., has resurfaced at Westchester C.C. in Valhalla, N.Y.
Jones, who played his high school ball at Taft H.S. in the Bronx, N.Y., started out his junior college career at Tallahassee C.C. in Tallahassee, Fla., in 1998-99.

However, four games into his sophomore year at TCC in 1999-2000, he left the school due to some family issues. Westchester Head Coach Winston Nicholas told JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com that Jones was granted an exemption by the NJCAA for that year, which is why he is able to play for the Westcos this season.
Jones pumped in 21 points on Tuesday night as Westchester defeated Globe, 105-90. Jones has decent quickness, and the lefty lead guard has very quick hands on defense. Above all, he has good offensive instincts and has a knack for getting to the free throw line on his drives.
Nicholas said that Jones' recruitment has been slow thus far. Right now, he has one year of eligibility left on the D-I level, although Nicholas feels that Jones might be able to get that year back from the NCAA on an appeal.
Jones is expected to graduate in the spring, and we'll keep you abreast of his situation this winter and into the spring.
