Dan Grunfeld Focusing On Short List

Dan Grunfeld, a rock-solid 6-5, 190 pound swingman from Nicolet H.S. in Glendale, Wis., told us he is really focusing in on Wisconsin and Stanford.
"I had a very good visit to Wisconsin last week," Grunfeld said. "It's a great school. I have also applied for admission to Stanford. I have not heard back from them yet on that."

Grunfeld said he plans on officially visiting Stanford on September 7th. "I am also seriously considering Tennessee, Ohio State, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Princeton, and Penn," Grunfeld said. "I am still considering those schools for a visit."
PREVIOUSLY, At the Best of the Summer Tournament, Grunfeld said he had been offered scholarships by Utah, Tennessee, Northwestern and Wisconsin. Indiana and Ohio State have expressed mild interest, while Stanford, Penn and Princeton are also heavily in the mix along with the four programs who have offered.
Of course, Penn and Princeton are Ivy League schools and do not offer athletic scholarships; Stanford typically does not offer basketball prospects athletic scholarships until an admissions decision has been rendered on a prospective student athlete.
For Grunfeld, that should not be a problem. He is in the top five percent of his class at Nicolet, and has scored a 1280 on the SAT and a 30 on the ACT.
As a junior at Nicolet, Grunfeld averaged 17 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block per game.
Grunfeld erupted at the adidas Big Time Tournament in a 45-point outburst during pool play. It was the top offensive performance during the humongous 344 team tournament.
Possessing an excellent feel for the game and lights out shooting ability, Grunfeld kicked off the summer at the adidas ABCD Camp, and then attended both the adidas Big Time and Best of Summer Tournaments with FOH Wisconsin #1.
IR will keep you posted on Grunfeld's recruitment in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
