“My visit game me the chance to see the school grounds and also the arena was the biggest I’ve ever seen. I’m really glad that I’m going to play at Arkansas next season and I know it’s going to be a great fit.”
McGowan, 6-foot-9, 220-pounds, said that the direction of the Arkansas program was key in his final decision along with his relationship with the Hawgs coaching staff
“Arkansas is bringing is some great players and at the time same time they rotate them enough so everyone gets their minutes,” McGowan said. “They are an up-and-coming program who is going to be successful in the future. I think they have a shot at the national championship and I want to be part of that.
"Coach (Oronde) Taliaferro recruited me and we have a really strong bond. He was straight-up and honest with me throughout and Coach (Stan) Heath was the same way. I trust both of them."
Last season McGowan averaged 14 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots per game. He carries a 3.8 GPA and will be a full qualifer.
