Cutley Talks About His Decision

Scott Cutley, a resourceful 6-5, 230 pound combo forward from Westchester H.S. in Los Angeles, Calif., gave an oral commitment to Kent State this week after visiting the school from Nov. 1-3.
Cutley picked the Golden Flashes after taking fall trips to Portland (Oct. 17-19), Loyola Marymount (Oct. 11-13) and Colorado (Sept. 6-8). Prior to his Kent State trip, he told Rivalshoops.com that he was down to Portland, LMU and Kent.

"I picked Kent because the coaching staff was really good to me," Cutley said. "I got along great with the players, and it just seemed right at the time, so I think it was a good choice."
Cutley said he has no reservations about going so far away from home for college, although he will miss being away from his friends and family.
Kent State will lose swing forward Antonio Gates after this season, so there is an opportunity for Cutley to see early minutes for the Golden Flashes.
"I am going to play both inside and outside at Kent," Cutley said. "Antonio Gates is a senior now, and they compare me a little bit to him."
Cutley said he plans on inking a letter of intent with the Golden Flashes during next week's early signing period.
