Cuse raids Philly for another recruit

Maybe it's the presence of Eagles quarterback, and Syracuse alum, Donovan McNabb in a football crazy city? Maybe the lure of the Carrier Dome and Hall of Fame coach Jim Boeheim? Whatever the case may be, the Orange struck again for a stud junior prospect in the City of Brotherly Love. Rivals.com has the scoop.
Richard Jackson, a 6-foot-9 225 pound junior PF, committed to Syracuse University last night, according to Neumann-Gorretti assistant coach John Mosco.

"Rich committed last night," Mosco said. "He really wanted to go with Scoop ( Antonio Jardine ). It was their dream to go to school together and they visited up there and thought it was the perfect destination."
Jackson had interest from a ton of schools, but Mosco said that it really came down to three in the end.
"It was between Syracuse, Villanova, and St. Joe's," Mosco said. "Lot's of other schools have been interested lately. Georgetown, Wake Forest and Virginia had offered."
Jackson also had heard from Georgia, virginia Tech, and Penn State, among others.
He averaged 10 points and 8 rebounds last season at Neumann-Gorretti.
Jackson joins his high school teammate Jardine and Niagara Falls PG Johnny Flynn as the third Syracuse recruit from the Class of 2007.
Neumann-Gorretti, with several division I college players on the roster, enters this season ranked as high as 13th nationally by major publications.
"We're Playing a brutal schedule," Mosco said. "It's going to be an interesting year."
