Curtis Withers, a 6-7, 230 pound inside forward from West Charlotte High School in North Carolina, told us he committed to Charlotte because he could step in right away and be a factor.
"I think I can get significant minutes when I go there next year," Withers said. "I like their style of play."

Withers chose Charlotte over Southern Cal. "They are both great schools," Withers said. "It was a hard decision. But I like Charlotte alot."
Withers stated that distance was not a significant part of his decision. "It just worked out that way," Withers said. "I felt most comfortable with the Charlotte people. If it were the other way I would have gone but Charlotte was the best place for me. So I committed to them."
Withers said he is going to try and improve every part of his game. "I want to work on my post moves," Withers said. "And I want to get quicker on defense. I want to be able to guard smaller people better."
