CT Swingman Has D-1 Interest

Everett "Scott" Draughn, an athletic 6-foot-6, 205-pound swingman from Hamden Hall Country Day School in Hamden, Connecticut, is an intriguing prospect who has been a bit underexposed after sitting out his junior season with an injury.
Draughn, who competed this summer with Wayne Simone's Connecticut Select team, missed his entire junior season with a broken leg. He participated in some marquee events this summer with Connecticut Select, but still seems to be rounding into game shape.

Draughn is an able-bodied athlete with good springs. He is quick off his feet, and possesses a solid frame with good strength. Scott is a decent ball handler who can absorb contact on trips to the rack. He will likely project as a wing prospect at the next level. Physically, it looks like he'll be in good shape to make the jump. The combination of Draughn's physical tools and guard skills, which are still a work in progress but coming along, make him an appealing prospect.
Draughn has fielded some preliminary interest from some high major schools, and has one visit lined up for next month.
"I will take an official visit to Richmond in October," said Draughn. "And hopefully (an official visit to) Kent State. They want to see me play some more."
Others who have expressed varying degrees of interest in Draughn include Penn State, St.John's, Providence, the College of Charleston, and Central Connecticut. Central Connecticut has offered.
Hamden Hall is a perenially strong high school program in the New Haven, Connecticut area. Two of the program's more recent alums are South Florida guard Danny Oglesby and Yale swingman Casey Hughes.
Draughn told RivalsHoops.com that he carries a 2.9 overall GPA. He will take the SAT again in October, needing to raise his score a little bit to project academically for NCAA Division I play.
