Chris Crockett has an almost unlimited number of options to consider when it comes to his future. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound point guard from Columbus (OH) Academy is a star on the hardwood, but is equally successful on the gridiron field. According to Crockett, he is extremely passionate about one sport in particular. Now that the football season is over, the talented floor general is gearing up for another year of high school hoops.

"Xavier brought me down for a game against George Washington last year," said Crockett. "I am also hearing from Penn State, Pittsburgh and Boston College. In football, I am hearing from Iowa, Wisconsin, Connecticut and Georgia Tech. I could probably play at a bigger school for football, but basketball is probably going to be my choice.
"I just love basketball," he added. "Xavier is a school that I'm very interested in right now. There is no football team, so basketball is the main focus, which is something I like. Also, Drew Lavender would be gone by the time I arrived, so I could step-in and play right away."
During his junior campaign, which just ended, Crockett rushed for over 2,000 yards and scored 37 touchdowns. The season didn't end the way Crockett and his teammates expected, but they had a successful year.
Now that his time on the gridiron field is over for the year, Crockett will gladly turn his attention towards the hardwood.
"We have our first scrimmage of the year on Wednesday," said Crockett. "We have another scrimmage on Saturday. Practice started today (Monday), but my coach told me to take a few days off. He wants me to take a few days off and relax.
"I might try to return so I can play in the scrimmage on Wednesday," he added. "If not, I will be back for Saturdays scrimmage. I am just ready for the basketball season to get started."
