Creighton snags scoring guard

Creighton picked up a commitment from three-star prospect Thomas Lane. Lane, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound shooting guard from Cassidy High School in Oklahoma City, Okla., is the type of player that can help a mid major program get into the “Big Dance” and then make some noise once they are there.
“I committed to Creighton,” said Lane. “I had a great visit and am excited about going there. I really liked all the players. I got along real well with the team. They all seemed like nice guys and treated me real well. The coaching staff is great. I liked them very much and felt like they were the best fit for me.

“Creighton has a nice campus and is a real good school. People around the program really like their basketball."
A very good scorer who led the adidas National Championship in Atlanta in scoring, Lane will likely redshirt a year to develop his defense and further refine his game.
"I think I'll be redshirting my first year,” he said. “I need to get stronger and work on my defense. I also need to continue to improve my jumper. Whatever they decide to do, I’m excited about the opportunity to be going to Creighton."
Lane, who averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists per game last season, also considered offers from Charlotte and Army.
