Cowboys land Jawun that they want

RANKINGS: Class of 2014 - 2015 - 2016
The pool of available point guards was already shallow to begin the day on Wednesday. Now that elite point guard Jawun Evans is off the board, that pool has almost completely dried up.

The No. 26 player in the class of 2015 made official what had been speculated leading up to his announcement by committing to play for Travis Ford and Oklahoma State. His summer coach, Lamont Simmons, confirmed the commitment to Oklahoma State.
A native of South Carolina, Evans moved to Dallas (Texas) Kimball as a junior and has since turned into a star on the national level. His chief asset being that he is an absolute speed demon.
Standing 5-foot-11, or six-foot if you want to be generous, Evans is a blur from one end of the floor to another. Watching him play, it is hard not to be reminded of a young T.J. Ford the way that he is able to push tempo while remaining in total control of his decision making and keeping his teammates involved.
A state title winner as a junior, Evans is a competitor at the highest level and has a very sturdy build to go with his speed. He gets into the lane to create for others, knocks down enough jumpers to keep defenders honest and is a very good scorer in the mid range with his pretty deep arsenal of floaters, runners and pull-up moves that keep defenders guessing.
The NCAA Tournament has shown us time and time again that elite point guard play is necessary come March and Evans is the kind of guy who could one day spearhead a deep run for the Cowboys.
The highest rated four-star prospect in the country, Evans joins a recruiting class that includes junior college big man Igor Ibaka who is the younger brother of Oklahoma City Thunder star Serge Ibaka. The Cowboys are also focused in on a pair of other Dallas area targets. Five-star big man Elijah Thomas and four-star shooting guard Admon Gilder have both been on campus and have Oklahoma State high on their lists.
