Cothron on hold

The first bit of controversial news surrounding the early signing period comes out of the North Carolina State recruiting class concerning Luke Cothron.
Cothron, the No. 33 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, has informed Rivals.com that he will not sign with North Carolina State during the early signing period.

"I just don't want to sign early," commented Cothron. "I want to make sure I make the right choice, basically."
Cothron, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound power forward from Red Springs (N.C.) Flora Macdonald Academy, noted that the North Carolina State coaching staff was fine with his decision and that he is still committed to the school.
Academics could also be a factor in this equation as Cothron still has hurdles to jump in order to qualify and has even been rumored to be a likely candidate to reclassify to 2011.
With Cothron, the North Carolina State recruiting class currently holds the No. 4 spot in the 2010 national team recruiting rankings. High level guards Ryan Harrow and Lorenzo Brown comprise the rest of the class.
Prior to committing to North Carolina State in early October, Cothron was also involved with Alabama and Tennessee. Cothron is originally from Alabama before transferring to Flora Macdonald Academy.
