Corey Brewer Selects Florida Gators

Corey Brewer, a 6-foot-8, 178-pound combo forward from Portland High School in Portland, Tennessee has given a commitment to Coach Billy Donovan and the Florida Gators. Brewer was hoping that he could make the announcement tomorrow, but word began leaking yesterday afternoon that Florida was the school of his choice.

“Yes, I’m going to be a Florida Gator,” Brewer said. “I really like their style of play and it was a great fit for me. There is a chance for me to come in right away and get some playing time.

“The coaching staff sees me coming in and playing a similar role to that of Mike Miller,” he added. “I’m just glad this process is over so I can focus on the rest of the summer, get ready for my senior year of basketball and hopefully make the McDonalds All-American game.”

Brewer will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana this next week (July 5-11) to participate in the Nike All-American Camp.
