When Ed Cooley was hired at Providence, the hope was that he would upgrade the Friars' recruiting. Heading into his third year as coach, it is clear he has done so.

Thursday night, Cooley landed his second four-star prospect from the class of 2014 when 7-foot-2 center Paschal Chukwu committed.
A product of Fairfield (Conn.) Prep who ranks No. 66 in the class of 2014, Chukwu is a native of Nigeria who shows loads of potential.
Though thin, Chukwu is a mobile big man who runs the floor well. He's shown agility in the lane to go with pretty good touch, ability on the glass and not surprisingly the ability to block shots.
While he will need to get stronger and continue adjusting to ball in the States, Chukwu is a potential difference maker down the road.
Chukwu joins four-star wing
Jalen Lindsey in the Friars' 2014 class and continues a trend of excellent recruiting by Cooley and his staff. They landed high-end four-star Brandon Austin in 2013 and five-stars Kris Dunn and Ricardo Ledo in 2012.
