Combo Guard Has Leader

Ray George, a 6-4, 175-pound combo guard from Coastal Christian Academy in Virginia, played for Team Georgia Elite under head coach Linzy Davis at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champion event last Memorial Day weekend.
George had some impressive moments during the three-day event. "He can play either the point guard or shooting guard position," Davis told us. "He can create or be a scoring point guard. He is like a Bobby Cremins point guard. He can score and distribute."

George will continue this summer and play with Davis' AAU program. And there are some big time schools that are expressing interest. "Cincinnati probably leads," Davis said. "But Ray is also interested in Memphis, Rutgers, Clemson, and Florida State. He's open but Cincinnati leads right now."
Davis said he was unsure when George would make a decision. "He's still open," Davis said. "So I wouldn't have a definite time on when he would decide on a school."
