Combo Guard Gets Div. I Interest

Chris Bernard, a 6'2'', 162 pound combo guard from St. Edmund's High School in Brooklyn, is a bit of a hidden gem coming out of the CHSAA's second division.

The junior Bernard has heard early on from Iona, Rider, and Quinnipiac. Iona and Rider reached out to Chris this past week with phone calls.

Bernard, a member of the Gauchos AAU program, averaged 20 points and six assists for St. Edmund's this past season. Chris is an athlete with good speed who is fast in the open floor. Chris is capable of running the point or playing off the ball. He will need to get stronger to excel at the next level.

Bernard, a native of the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, carries a 76 average in the classroom. He recently took the June SAT, and had not yet received the results when this story was compiled.
