Combo Forward Has Top List

Brandon Bass, a solid 6-7, 225 pound power/combination forward from Capital H.S. in Baton Rouge, La., was one of the better players RivalsHoops.com watched at the TOC in North Carolina. Remember, Bass had started off his spring with a tremendous Kingwood Classic.
Bass has a top list of North Carolina, Duke, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Cincinnati, Miami, and LSU. The reason why many of these schools are interested in Bass is because Brandon is a physical and athletic big man who can step away from the basket with range out to three point land.
Bass played for the New Orleans Jazz at the TOC. RivalsHoops.com had a chance to watch Bass play a couple of times. He showed he is tough to move off the low blocks. It appears though Bass is trying to improve his skills for perhaps the small forward slot. Bass can certainly make it as a four. He is big and strong and he can battle with big bodies in the paint. One can see why so many majors are interested in his skills.
Bass also has interest in Georgia Tech, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, Tulane, Missouri, Southern Cal, and Mississippi State.
Bass said he averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks per game as a junior at Capital. A rugged inside player who can rebound in traffic, Bass surprised RivalsHoops.com with his outside shot at the Kingwood Classic. He's got a very nice midrange stroke and even ventured beyond the arc and knocked down some three pointers. His shot will need to be more consistent though to make it as a three man.
Bass said he has a 2.7 GPA but has yet to take the SAT or ACT. He plans on attending the adidas ABCD Camp in July and then hitting the summer circuit with the New Orleans Jazz program.
He has played in a few tournaments this spring with Rick Isaac's H-Squad program, but said that the Jazz are his primary travel team.
