Colvin favoring Pac-10 school

Four-star prospect Chris Colvin of Chicago Whitney Young High School raised his stock with his strong play during the July evaluation period. The 6-foot-2, 174-point guard has since expanded his list to seven schools, but one Pac-10 school sits by itself at the top of the list.
USC is the favorite at this point to land Colvin, who is also listing Florida State, Baylor, Illinois, Kentucky, Providence and Marquette. Colvin claims offers from all seven schools, but he only has one visit scheduled.

"I'm going to USC on September 19," said Colvin. "I putting some other schools back in the mix, but USC is my leader. Tim Floyd is a good coach and is bringing in some great players like Demetrius Walker and Renardo Sidney.
"I love the LA atmosphere, and Coach Floyd will be a good mentor. We'd have a chance to really do something while I'm there."
Colvin is the No. 92 ranked prospect in the Rivals150 and the No. 15 ranked point guard in the country.
Chris Colvin scouting report:
A physical lead guard, Colvin has the strength and quickness to get into the lane almost at will. Once inside the interior of the defense, he has the ability to finish as well as set up his shooters. Defensively, he has the tools to be a dominant defender against either guard position. Playing under control and improving the consistency of his long range shot are areas for improvement.
