Collins Slices List To 4

Brett Collins, a 6-4, 215 pound forward from Mountain Pointe H.S. in Phoenix, Ariz., has sliced his list down to four schools this fall.
Collins told Rivalshoops.com that he is down to Arizona State, Utah, St. Mary's and Kent State. He is planning to have in-home visits and take official visits to all four of the colleges on his list. All have offered scholarships.

This past weekend, Collins took his second official visit to ASU (Sept. 6-8). This upcoming weekend (Sept. 13-15), he will visit Utah. His last trip is slated for St. Mary's (Sept. 20-22), while his first trip was to Kent State from Aug. 30 through Sept. 1.
Collins will host Kent State for an in-home visit on Sept. 10, followed by Utah (Sept. 11) and St. Mary's (Sept. 16). Arizona State is also expected to come in the home, but has not yet scheduled a date.
"I don't really have a leader yet," Collins explained. "I am just going to wait until I take all of the visits, and then make a decision."
Collins enjoyed a very productive summer playing with Art Dye's Arizona Stars program. He's an inside/outside threat who will likely make a transition to the two or swingman slot at the Division I level, even though he plays mostly forward at the high school level.
"Arizona State has five scholarships to give, and they told me I can commit whenever I want," Collins said. "Utah has me number one at the small forward or shooting guard position, and Kent State said I am number one there, too."
Collins has a rugged frame and good athleticism to get things done in the paint, but his height suggests that he will definitely be playing more on the perimeter at the next level.
