Collins schedules first official visit

Sherron Collins, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound point guard from Crane High School in Chicago, Ill., has been a popular individual as of late. On Friday night, coaches from Illinois, Iowa and Kansas were in the stands to watch Collins on the football field. On Monday evening, the No. 31 ranked player in the class of 2006, conducted an in-home visit with one of the aforementioned programs.
"Coach Bill Self shared a lot of information with Sherron during his visit," said Longstreet. "He just gave us a lot of information about the University of Kansas during our time together. I really don't know how you couldn't like a program like KU."

Collins, the No. 31 ranked player in the class of 2006, is currently being recruited by the likes of Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi State, Missouri, Wisconsin and several others. While the four-star floor general intends to take a number of official visits, only one has been scheduled at this time.
"Yes, we are going to take an official visit to Kansas on the weekend of October 14," said Longstreet. "We plan to go down and watch the surroundings and hopefully have a good time. No other visits have been planned right now, but we do plan to visit some other schools."
