Collins Being Recruited For 2 Sports

Milton Collins, an explosive 6-1, 165 pound combo guard from O.P. Walker H.S. in New Orleans, La., is being recruited by college football and basketball programs.
Collins, whose grit, toughness and athleticism impressed Rivalshoops.com this past spring and summer with Rob Tillman's Jackson Panthers program, said that he's interested in playing both sports in college.

Collins said that he has football scholarship offers from Colorado, Louisiana Tech, Ole Miss, Clemson and Louisiana State. On the hardwood, he has interest from Colorado, Wyoming, San Jose State and Mississippi State. Tennessee has also shown interest on the football side.
O.P. Walker started out the season 3-0 in football, although Collins missed a game due to injury. He plays both wide receiver and safety on the gridiron, and has amassed seven catches in two games.
His 4.3 speed in the 40-yard dash is a big asset to him in both sports, and it's little surprise that one of his catches this season resulted in a 76-yard touchdown run.
Even if Collins decides to play both sports in college, it's likely that he will sign a football scholarship in February so that he can immediately play basketball in college. If he eschews football in favor of basketball, he could sign in either November (early) or in April/May (late).
Because he is in the midst of football season, it's been difficult for Collins to take official visits this fall. When he does set up some trips and narrows his focus a bit, Rivalshoops.com will keep you informed on any changes to his list.
