College of Charleston lands wing

In recruiting, it's all about who you know. Sometimes, it is all about who you date, too. Georgia wing Matt Sundberg verbally committed to College of Charleston and cited an existing relationship with one of the assistant coaches.
The 6-foot-6 wing from Harrison High School in metro Atlanta pledged his services to Bobby Cremins and staff last week. Sundberg said he had an exsisting relationship with assistant coach Andrew Wilson, a former Harrison star before playing at Florida State. There is also another connection.

"He dated my sister for three years," Sundberg said.
The opportunity to play at College of Charleston, regardless of past relationships, was too hard to pass up Sundberg admitted.
"They have a good coach and a good staff. I know I'm going to be comfortable there," he said. "They are moving to a new conference in a couple of years and it's going to be for competition. Plus, I love their campus there. I visited earlier in the summer."
The long wing has carved out a niche as a sharp-shooter on the perimeter and that is the role that Cremins has in mind for the Peach State native.
"He said he wants to put me in as a two or a three and possibly be the sixth man or even a starter as a freshman," Sundberg said.
Sundberg said South Carolina, Georgia, Richmond and Air Force were also interested. He and his Inner Strength teammates are still playing in the AAU 17 and under Nationals in Orlando.
