Coaching changes mix it up for Hummel

With the constant coaching changes this year in the off-season, Indiana native Robbie Hummel watched his recruitment go from stable to completely spread out. The four-star small forward is now looking at his options a little differently than he imagined going into the evaluation period.
Hummel has a number of offers in hand already but when former Indiana head coach Mike Davis left the Hoosier program and when Herb Sendek left NC State for Arizona State, the Valparaiso (Ind.) junior was left to rethink things.

"I don't blame those guys for doing what they did. Coach Sendek surprised me a little bit but I understand why he went to Arizona State. I'd do it too. He got a good pay raise and a good situation out there. I guess you could say Arizona State is now recruiting me."
"I was a little disappointed when Coach Davis left IU. I like him. I still like the school but I'll just have to get to know the new staff."
It will be interesting to see what new schools will be watching Hummel from the sidelines this spring. The No. 60 ranked player in the class admits he is even a little confused on where he is at in the recruiting process because of the coaching turnaround at several programs.
"I don't know where I'm at now," Hummel said. "I thought I had a good feel for everybody but now I'm going to wait a little bit. I was getting ready to narrow it all down but now I think I'll wait a little while."
Hummel is also considering Iowa, Northwestern, Charlotte, Notre Dame, Purdue, Xavier, Wisconsin-Green Bay and Valpo.
