Coaches tracking Middleton

2009 three-star prospect Khris Middleton had a strong summer playing for the Carolina Celtics, and his recruitment is beginning to heat up. A number of schools are checking in on the 6-foot-6, 195-pound wing from Charleston (S.C.) Porter Gaud School.
High Point checked out Middleton over the weekend and offered on the spot. South Carolina head coach Dave Odom watched him play on Monday and invited him to South Carolina's season opener. Winthrop has been in this week as well, and Oklahoma is coming in on Saturday.

Clemson, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, St. Joseph's and Charlotte have also evaluated him this fall.
According to Middleton's father James Middleton, St. Joseph's, Clemson and South Carolina have shown the most interest with Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech recently turning up the heat.
"Khris is still pretty open," said Mr. Middleton. "He does like the ACC. Right now he is just getting to know the coaches and seeing where he fits in. He doesn't necessarily need to play a lot right away. It's more that he wants to find the system he fits into the best and a system where he can develop his game."
As a sophomore Middleton averaged 12 points and eight rebounds per game.
