Coach comments on Murrays commitment
Aaric Murray, the No. 35 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, had a number of colleges vying for his services. Concordeville (Pa.) Glen Mills' High School head coach breaks down the thought process of his 6-foot-10, 230-pound center in choosing LaSalle.
"This has been a long thought out process for Aaric," said Coach Craig Mellinger. "In the last two or three months he decided he wanted to stay close to home. That is just where his heart is. So then he had to make a tough decision between all the great schools in the city. The coaching staff here just advised him to find the school that best answered his questions and made him feel the most comfortable.
"When he visited LaSalle, he liked the small class size and was really impressed with the academic advisor he would be working with. He also knows a lot of guys on the team and respects their ability. They were playing really good basketball at the end of last season. Aaric thinks it is a great opportunity for him to come in and help the program continue its rise. And finally, Aaric really trusted Coach Giannini. Aaric just felt that he was extremely honest with him."
