Clyde Wade Picks Up Play Interest

SMITHFIELD, RHODE ISLAND -- Despite coming off the bench over the past couple of weeks, Clyde Wade, a 6-0 combo guard from The Winchendon School in Massachusetts, has become one of the focal points offensively for head coach Mike Byrnes.
"He is scoring for us and doing a nice job running the point for us when we need him," Byrnes said. "It showed tonight."

Tonight meaning last Saturday night against the Laurinburg Institute of North Carolina. Wade did a nice job of distributing the ball, pushing the ball up in transition, and scoring when he had his shot.
Texas A&M had a staff member on hand to watch Wade and its assistant coach spoke to Byrnes after the game. It's not clear right now if the Aggies will pursue Wade seriously since Texas A&M has more interest in Daryll Hill of Milford Academy.
"He can play division one basketball," Byrnes said. Byrnes told us that Wade has some interest from Towson, Wagner, Fairfield, and Davidson.
Wade happens to be a very good student. He possesses a 3.8 GPA but wants to raise his ACT score above a 20 to see if he could garner some interest from the academic heavyweights such as a Davidson. Byrnes said Wade will take the test again.
