Clinkscales Raves About FSU

Florida State University has had their fair share of players on campus on official visits in September. Last weekend they hosted Cliff Clinkscales but on the unofficial level. The 6-foot-1, 160 pound point guard from Shores Christian Academy (FL) has yet to take his SAT limiting his visits. But he said he knows where he wants to go already.
“I like everything I saw. The gym was very nice. It’s so amazing how big everything was,” Clinkscales said. “They showed a lot of love. A lot of love. Florida State is still my leader.”

He said he enjoyed the passion of the FSU football faithful during the Seminoles thrashing of Colorado. Clinkscales said he was never a big football fan. That changed on his trip.
“I was fan that day. I’ve never seen that kind of capacity of crowd before. They love their football in Florida,” he said.
Seminole head coach Vernon Hamilton is coming to Shores Christian for a visit with the New York native and his coach Danny Smith. Clinkscales said he would commit on the spot if a scholarship were offered.
“Some people will think I’m crazy if I commit right away because I haven’t taken any official visits but they are the leader. They’ve been with me from the start,” Clinkscales said. “Everything has been real positive about them. It would be hard not to say yes.”
So why aren’t schools offering the playmaker? Simple. He will take the SAT on October 11th. In the meantime, he is working on his game in personal workouts and with his teammates, gearing up for the regular season.
“It gets real frustrating because I haven’t taken the SAT yet. I think a lot of teams are just waiting to see what I score,” Clinkscales said. “I just want to see who is serious. I’m ready to sign.”
The point guard said he might take an unofficial visit to South Florida in October and that is currently in the works. Georgia, Charlotte, Providence, Siena and Connecticut have all shown interest.
Clinkscales is headed to New Jersey this weekend to play in a showcase game alongside his AAU teammates Josh Smith and Dwight Howard. He said he’s looking forward to running the show with them again.
