Clemson, Butler, Ole Miss lead for Baldwin

Winder (Ga.) Apalachee guard Kamar Baldwin had a monster junior season and has continued to play at a high level so far this spring with the Atlanta Celtics. His hard work has paid off with more interest from college coaches and he now finds himself ranked as the No. 124 player in the 2016 Rivals150.
Within the past couple months, he's reeled in offers from Clemson, Ole Miss and Tulsa with Butler, Florida, Georgia Tech and Temple all showing interest.

Clemson was the first program to step up with an offer when the three-star prospect was on campus for an unofficial visit.
"I talk to them pretty much every day or every other day," Baldwin said. "I like the coaching staff there. I think they would be a good fit if I decide to go there. They treat you like family and it's close to home so my family and friends can come watch me. It's also a great school."
Ole Miss offered after a strong showing during the first live recruiting period at the adidas event in Dallas.
"I like their program a lot too. I talk to coach [Tony] Madlock a lot," he said. "I've done some research on them and they have a really good business school down there. I haven't visited there yet, so I'm not really sure what the campus is like."
Tulsa came in not long after Ole Miss, and Baldwin is familiar with coach Dennis Felton.
"I like Tulsa too," he said. "I talk to coach Felton a lot. He talks about how much he thinks I'd be able to help their team because they graduate like five seniors when I come in, so I would have a chance to start right away. I remember him being at Georgia and they won the SEC Tournament the one year."
Butler could be the next school to pull the trigger on an offer to the Georgia native.
"I talk to Butler just about every day like I do with Clemson," Baldwin said. "They got a new coach that I talk to a lot. He tells me how I'm a priority for them and how they will be graduating three guards the year after I come in, so I would come off the bench my freshman year and start after that. They are a good program and they are on the rise."
Baldwin plans to play out the rest of the travel season before coming to a decision.
"I'll probably commit at the end of the summer or right around when school starts, but I definitely want to get it out of the way before the season starts," he said. "I'll be looking at how good the school is academically, how much of a relationship I have with the coaches, the playing style, and the playing time I'll get as a freshman. I want to go somewhere I'll have a chance to play as a freshman."
Three schools hold an early edge in his recruitment.
"I'd say Clemson, Butler and Ole Miss right now."
