Clemons: Anxious To Play For Quin

Ricky Clemons, 5-11, 175 pound point guard from the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho, will sign his letter of intent with Missouri this week. "I will sign my letter of intent with Missouri on Friday," Clemons said. "I don't think I will do it tomorrow."
But Clemons will sign later this week with Missouri. "I think I will fit in well there," Clemons said. "I am excited to play for Missouri. They have a lot of great players and recruits coming in. So I think we will have a chance to win a lot of games next season."

Florida State, under new head coach Leonard Hamilton, made a late push for Clemons. "I thought about taking a visit there but I ended up going out of town for something else," Clemons said. "I just liked Missouri so much."
Clemons said Mississippi State was going to come in for a school visit but it was cancelled after Ricky told the staff he was committed to Missouri.
Clemons enjoyed a terrific season for the Golden Eagles in 2001-2002. Clemons was sent home from CSI earlier this month and is completing his degree work via correspondence. So he still has to earn his associates degree before moving on to Missouri or any other division one school.
Clemons put up 50 points in a game earlier this year. He is an exciting player who loves to push tempo and make things happen, although he can get out of control at times.
Previously, Clemons had earlier recruiting interest from Louisville, Minnesota, San Diego State, Missouri, South Carolina and N.C. State. "I am going to be ready to play for Missouri in the fall," promised Clemons. "
A native of Raleigh, N.C., Clemons averaged 18.9 points, eight assists and 3.4 steals this past season.
